As I was reading some documentation on the Next.js page, I dozed off for a moment. When I opened my eyes again, I became aware of the little details around me—the sharp pixels on my monitor, the smooth movement of my cursor. I glanced down at my keyboard, then at my mouse, and then at all the other things I had within reach.
At that point, a thought struck me. It wasn’t that I had ever been arrogant or ungrateful. In fact, I had always felt content. Alhamdulillah, I didn’t feel the constant urge to chase after new gadgets or products. Alhamdulillah, I was able to save most of my money and spend it on things that truly mattered, like my family. Yet, I realized something important: I still wasn’t thanking Allah as much as I should.
I believe many people are in the same situation. It’s not that they live in luxury or boast about what they own. It’s not even that they’re always yearning for the latest things. Rather, it’s that they simply forget. And let me emphasize this: they frequently forget. Forgetting doesn’t mean being ungrateful, but it does mean that we often don’t thank Allah as much as we ought to.
So, through this reflection, I’d like to remind myself first and also the readers: be grateful to Allah for every blessing He has given us.
Alhamdulillah for everything.
